Coyote Cafe

This creation of renowned chef Mark Miller is one of the most famous restaurants in Las Vegas. Featuring innovative and expertly prepared southwestern dishes, Coyote Cafe consistently wows diners. The main dining room has a lively bar next to which is a cazuela (casserole) oven and comal grill. You can see your dishes being prepared in a small exhibition area. The dim dining room has tables lit by candlelight and a interesting (and funny) mural on glass. The Grill room might be more appropriate for couples, it's quieter.

The dishes are a mixture of southwestern classics and innovative nouvele dishes.  An example is a salmon fillet rolled in ground pumpkin seeds and corn tortillas topped with roasted chili/pumpkin seed sauce served on a bed of spinach-wrapped spaghetti squash  with pine nuts, scallions, corn kernels, and sun-dried tomatoes. Try a Brazilian daiquiri, they're the house specialty.

Emeril's New Orleans Fish House

World famous chef Emeril Lagasse brings his cuisine to the Strip- and Bam! He kicked it up a notch. If you're walking out of the MGM Grand with some winnings, consider treating yourself  to Emeril's. It's absolutely fantastic and you'll probably wind up eating a dish that can't be found anywhere else. Dishes are mostly creole, with some of Emeril's personal touch. Ingredients are flown in from around the country everyday, and you can taste the difference.

All the appetizers are good, but our editor almost licked his plate after inhaling the barbecue shrimp. Although it is called a "Fish House," there are plenty of dishes for land-lubbers. One of our favorites was a tender fillet mignon stuffed with a crawfish dressing and topped with Bordelaise sauce with crawfish tails and andouille sausage. For dessert, don't miss the Banana Cream Pie- you'll think you died and went to dessert heaven. No matter how much you lost, this pie will put a smile back on your face. Without a doubt, Emeril's is one of the best restaurants is Las Vegas.

Gatsby's

Be prepared, Gatsby's is one of the most expensive restaurants in Las Vegas - but you get what you pay for. While a handful of restaurants might have food comparable to Gatsby's, no restaurant can match the entire dining experience found here.Your are truly pampered by the wait staff as they bring you some of the most innovative Eurasian dishes around. They'll even sometimes offer small, free treats like caviar or smoked salmon to tease your palette

Chef Terrence Fong blends classic European cuisine with the orient, resulting in interesting (and outstanding) dishes. Ahi tuna with sesame seed crust and wasabi-butter is incredible as is the foie gras with Perigourd truffles and organic greens with port wine vinaigrette sauce. For those with an adventurous palette, Gatsby's also has some exotic meats like ostrich and buffalo. If you really want to sample some of the restaurant's best dishes, try the Chef's Degustation (tasting) menu. Although it's $75 each, you'll sample some of the best cutting-edge dishes. For $30 more a sommelier will bring you a wine to accompany each dish.   Jackets are recommended for men.

Wolfgang Puck Cafe

The restaurants in the MGM Grand reads like a Who's Who in cuisine, so the presence of Uber-chef Wolfgang Puck shouldn't surprise you. Very Spago-ish, the cafe offers Californian nouvelle cuisine like thin crust pizza, salads and light sandwiches. The food is good, but only occasionally drifts into the outstanding. One such remarkable dish is the Chinois chicken salad that comes with fried wontons, julienned carrots, cabbage and green onions served in a Chinese honey-mustard sauce. The specialty pizzas are good too, but you wind up spending too much for the Puck name.

Neyle Mediterranean Grill

Inspired by the foods of Ottoman Turks, Egyptian, Greek and French rulers, and Arab tribes, Neyla's cuisine melds the best of Mediterranean specialties and adds fusion American favorites. "The Neyla dining experience is truly like no other. We serve elegant foods that are gently spiced with the spirit of the region's famed generosity," said Chef Brendan McGovern. "It's a wonderful atmosphere that excites all senses."

To add to the ambiance, Neyla features a working hookah, the smoking instrument from the region, in a separate room.

Ricardo's

Located along the MGM Grand's Studio Walk. This 11,056-square-foot Mexican restaurant seats 320 and offers patrons both a fine dining, and casual dining atmosphere. In addition, Ricardo's-MGM Grand features nightly entertainment, a walk-up margarita bar, and exhibition palapa taco bar, and a gift shop featuring themed merchandise.
