Top of the World

The Top of the World is a revolving restaurant on the top of the Stratosphere tower. It takes about one hour to make one complete revolution, so you won't feel the motion of the room. You'll see some of  best views of Las Vegas and the best part is that your view will constantly change. At night, the Top of the World can be one of the most romantic spots in town. You'll be so caught up in the view and each other that you won't notice the food is not worth the money. Some dishes are quite good, but you're paying for the view. The attentive staff also makes the cost more digestible. The continental dishes are well-prepared, but you'll remember the evening rather than the food.

Top of the World serves large portions of continental dishes, but try to save room for dessert. They're all fantastic, but how could you come here and not get the Chocolate Stratosphere Tower. It is a chocolate replica of the casino, the tower made of an excellent chocolate mousse. The waiter then comes and pours chocolate sauce over the whole thing. Wow!

If you want the view (and the event) without spending lots of money, stay for an appetizer and dessert. There's a $15 per person minimum for dinner, but you should cover that easily. You'll get the best parts of the evening, the view, each other - and a possible death by chocolate.

Big Sky

Big Sky is one of the best meal values in the city, and when you can get a complete steak dinner for ten bucks, that's saying something. The dinner is all you can eat. Entrees include prime rib with creamed horseradish sauce and a barbecue combination of  beef brisket, St. Louis ribs, Carolina pulled pork and fried chicken. Entrees come with salad, corn muffins, corn on the cob, steak fries, coleslaw, Texas toast, and baked beans with pork.   All the dishes are well prepared and definitely worth the money. If you have room, wonder over to the dessert bar- then call a physician.

The decor is Old West, with murals of cowboys, western memorabilia and a cashier housed in a chuck wagon. There's also country western music playing in the background. This is another good place to take kids and people with huge appetites.

Tower of Pasta

Traditional Italian dishes are offered in this untraditional setting. All the dishes are well prepared and the prices will leave you enough money for dessert. The pasta sauces are rich and delicious. We loved the Alfredo. Reservations are suggested. Open for dinner daily with lunch served on the weekends.

Roxy's Diner

Take a trip back in time at Roxy's Diner, a fifties-themed diner. Everything here (except prices that are still reasonable for the '90's) will make you believe that you are in a diner in 1955. The staff wears old-style uniforms and do-wop plays on the juke box. You'll be looking around for Sha-na-na by dessert.
