Gold Coast Hotel & Casino

Casinos > Overview

the gold coast hotel & casino

The Gold Coast Hotel & Casino is a self-contained, 750-room resort destination, located on Flamingo Road one mile west of The Strip and I-15. When the Spanish-style complex opened its doors in December 1986, it became an immediate success. Visitors and residents alike were quick to make the Gold Coast their home- away-from-home because of the convenience, friendly staff and fabulous dining.

With success came an almost immediate need for expansion. In 1988, the size of the structure was doubled. The annex included additional full-service casino square-footage, a gift shop, restaurants and a 72-lane family-bowling center. The popularity of the Gold Coast also quickly necessitated the addition of more rooms. In July 1990, a 450-room tower, adjacent to the existing hotel structure, was opened.

Surrounded by acres of free parking and two easy access parking garages, the Gold Coast also has a free shuttle bus which goes back and forth to its sister properties, the Barbary Coast on the Strip, and The Orleans located just one mile west of the Strip on Tropicana Avenue. For the guest's convenience, the Gold Coast also houses an American Express office and a complete travel service, Cole Travel.

A beautiful free-style swimming pool is a delightful refuge for all sun-worshippers. Located on the West Side of the property, the pool is surrounded by beautiful landscaping, waterfalls, spa and a tropical bar. The swimming pool at the Gold Coast is a favorite attraction for many out-of-town visitors.

The full-service casino features Blackjack ("21"), Craps, Roulette, Baccarat, Oriental Pal Gow Poker, a comfortable Keno lounge and more than 2,100 slots, video poker and video keno machines.

The Gold Coast is especially renowned for its slot club membership, nearly 350,000 strong. "The Club" is absolutely free to join. To become a member, stop by "The Club" desk to receive a personalized card, which members insert into machines every time they play. Members can use accumulated points for comps, Gold Coast logo merchandise, and other items that are available at the club redemption center inside the hotel gift shop. Another bonus for club members is the special monthly promotions.

The Race and Sports Book at the Gold Coast is spacious, comfortable and provides widespread coverage of many different sporting events. Forty-three color screens assure the race or sports book player an unobstructed view of horse races and sporting events across the country.

A 72-lane Bowling Center, which occupies the entire second floor of the Gold Coast's casino addition, is one of the largest bowling facilities in the country. Amenities include a pro shop, an instructor, 1200 equipment lockers, video arcade, a snack bar specializing in delicious pizza and a 60-seat cocktail lounge. The Bowling Center features Brunswick 2000 bowling equipment, with state-of-the-art automatic scoring.

For Bingo players, ten sessions are offered every day from 8 am until 2 am.

For room reservations, call 1-888-402-6278, 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
