This mini-theme park behind the MGM Grand Hotel is someplace to
take children, but it often seems as if it were intended for adults.
Like a lot of Vegas, MGM Grand Adventures was conceived in the
"Las Vegas for families" days, but is now trying to
backpedal out. There are some rides for kids like bumper cars
and a log flume, but these are nestled in with the Sky Screamer,
a bungee-like swing and three boxing rings for wrestling in inflated
samurai costumes - too scary or weird for small kids.
Overall it seems a bit of a tourist trap. Some of the rides are
fun, but you have to walk through too much merchandising and expensive
food vendors to get to them. If you need to relax and take a break
from the tables, pay the $2 for the park and watch people riding
the Sky Screamer. It lives up to it's name.
Admission only is $2, with unlimited rides it's $9 for
hotel guests, $11 for everybody else. Sky Screamer; one person
$22.20, two $17.50 each, three $12.50 each.
