Orleans Hotel & Casino

Casinos > Overview

the orleans hotel & casino

The Orleans is a little off the beaten path, but worth the trip. In fact, the Orleans is a great place to stay if you're in Vegas for more than a couple of days.  The fact that the Orleans is a distance away from the south strip definitely becomes a plus after you've had your fill of neon, roller coasters and volcanoes. The room rates are very reasonable and are among the largest in town. As far as square-foot for your dollar, we don't think you can do better. As the name might indicate, the Orleans is designed with a New Orleans / Big Easy theme. The rooms therefore reflect this style. Most are L-shaped with big chairs and a sofa.  The brass headboards and lace curtains make the room feel very cozy.

The casino floor is decorated with a French Quarter feel, but doesn't capture the excitement of Mardi Gras. There is also Cajun and zydeco music broadcast inside the casino to add to the festive atmosphere. The sports book is rarely crowded despite the fact that it is comfortable and the service is good.

The Orleans is renowned for it's high-caliber lounge acts. There is no cover and no drink minimum, but there are specials and some great local talent.. Look for Sam Butera.
